We are hiring LGV/HGV Drivers for our Refuse, Recycling and Food Waste service within the local area. The role is full‑time, 37 hours per week, and may involve weekend work, early starts and late finishes.
Responsibilities
- Drive a range of vehicles in a Refuse, Recycling and Food Waste service.
- Communicate with members of the public and commercial customers.
- Carry out instructions efficiently and work to a high standard.
- Work all bank holidays at enhanced rates of pay, except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
- Work three catch‑up Saturdays per year (excluding bank holiday substitutions).
Qualifications
- Flexibility, strong work ethic and a team‑player attitude.
- Excellent customer‑service and communication skills.
- Good driving record and possession of the appropriate LGV/HGV licence.
Pay & Benefits
- Starting salary: £28,598 (pro rata for part‑time colleagues).
- Recruitment & Retention Supplement: £1,200 (pro rata for part‑time colleagues).
- Enhanced rates are paid for work on bank holidays and catch‑up Saturdays.
