The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 £ per year.

Starting salary for this role will be Soulbury Range 4‑9 (starting at 5) plus 3 SPA points (pro rata for part‑time colleagues). This role sits within a well defined pay band, offering clear progression as you grow your career at BCP. About the Role

  • Apply psychology to improve outcomes, promote inclusion, and support emotional wellbeing for children and young people.
  • Use family‑ and child‑centred approaches, working collaboratively with parents, schools, and partners.
  • Help the Council meet statutory duties for vulnerable children, including those with SEND and disabilities.
  • Stay current with professional practice while managing your workload effectively.
  • Contribute creatively as part of a supportive, collaborative team.
  • Deliver high‑quality traded services to schools, including consultation, assessment, intervention and progress monitoring.
  • Deliver inclusive practice through co‑production and a Graduated Response to SEND.
  • Offer professional advice to the SEN Team, including involvement in complex casework and tribunals.
  • Provide safeguarding‑compliant, child‑centred support at all times.
  • Deliver professional development and contribute to critical incident response for educational settings.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Essential Qualifications
  • Honours degree in Psychology or equivalent.
  • A recognised qualification in Educational Psychology (or be currently in training).
  • Experience & Knowledge
  • Experience delivering a broad range of Educational Psychology casework.
  • Experience in delivering training, promoting inclusion, and working with vulnerable children.
  • Strong understanding of psychological assessments, SEND legislation and multi‑agency working.
  • Personal Qualities
  • Solution‑focused thinking.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Motivation to support others and drive positive outcomes for all children.

Job Requirements

  • HCPC registration (or eligibility).
  • Enhanced DBS check with Child Barred List.
  • Ability to travel across the area (use of public transport or full UK driving licence with vehicle access).
