Here at Bournemouth & Poole College, we are looking to recruit a Lecturer in Construction Multi Skills on a full time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £30,000 - £40,374 per annum. The purpose of this post is to deliver high quality and effective teaching and learning to Bournemouth and Poole College students. The post holder will also act as a personal tutor to students. The Poole Campus provides dedicated workshops for each trade and well-equipped classrooms to support effective teaching, learning, and assessment. The Fulcrum is a purpose-built facility for Site Carpentry and Boat Building, with full-size workshop rigs to provide realistic industry-standard training environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning to a diverse range of students, ensuring an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
  • Embed employability and employer engagement activities within all programmes to enhance student career readiness.
  • Support community and personal enrichment initiatives, including educational trips and activities related to learning.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive teaching documentation, including schemes of learning, lesson plans, assignment schedules, and learning materials.
  • Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, and health and safety across all aspects of college life.
  • Assess and provide developmental feedback on student work, maintaining accurate records and reporting on student progress.

About You:

  • NVQ level 2 or Craft certificate in a trade Level 2 (or equivalent)
  • English and Maths Teaching Qualification or willingness to achieve within 2 years.
  • 5 years minimum industry experience on site.
  • Knowledge of current evidence-based practice in field(s) of expertise.
