As a Behaviour Mentor within our Student Experience directorate, you will play a vital frontline role in ensuring our students feel safe, supported, and empowered to succeed. Working as part of the Safeguarding and Wellbeing team, you’ll respond to emerging concerns, assess and manage risk, and put timely and appropriate interventions in place. You will build strong, positive relationships—particularly with students most at risk—helping to improve behaviour, engagement, and personal development. Using restorative and supportive approaches, you’ll guide students to understand their behaviour and make positive changes, contributing to a college environment where every learner feels valued and included.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Building trusted relationships with students to promote engagement, confidence, and positive behaviour
- Supporting students with their personal development, resilience, and self-esteem
- Monitoring attendance, punctuality, and progress of at-risk students and taking appropriate action
- Working closely with teaching staff, Learning Managers, and families to ensure consistent support
- Responding to behavioural or wellbeing concerns and escalating safeguarding issues where required
- Maintaining accurate records to support interventions
