Here at Bournemouth & Poole College, we have a position available for a Lecturer in Media on a part time, fixed term contract until July 2027. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of Β£30,000 to Β£40,374 per annum (pro-rata).

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Lecturer in Media to join our ambitious and thriving Media curriculum area on a fixed term basis.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching across a range of FE Media programmes. You will work with learners at different stages of their journey, helping them to develop the technical, creative and professional skills needed to succeed in the media industry. You will deliver engaging learning in areas such as:

  • Video production and post-production
  • Photography and DSLR operation
  • Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Photoshop, Animate)
  • Media and film theory
  • Sound recording and creative production

You will also contribute to curriculum development, learner support, assessment and quality improvement, playing a key role in shaping outstanding learner experiences.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has relevant media industry experience and/or successful teaching experience
  • Is committed to high-quality teaching, assessment and learner progress
  • Is confident delivering practical and theory-based media sessions
  • Is technically up-to-date and passionate about creative media
  • Can engage, motivate and support learners from diverse backgrounds
  • Is committed to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion

A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one) and a degree in a relevant subject area are essential. Experience of FE delivery, graphics, Blender or other 3D tools would be advantageous but not essential.
