About the role

You'll play a key role in supporting both students and teaching staff by ensuring workshops run smoothly, safely, and effectively. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing tools, materials, and equipment for practical sessions
  • Maintaining and repairing workshop equipment to a high standard
  • Managing stock, ordering materials, and ensuring cost efficiency
  • Supporting practical demonstrations and student learning
  • Ensuring workshops meet all health & safety standards (including COSHH)
  • Keeping workshop environments organised, safe, and industry-relevant

About you

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Level 2 (or equivalent) English & Maths
  • Experienced in a workshop or construction environment
  • Knowledgeable about tools, materials, and industry practices
  • Highly organised with strong problem-solving skills
  • Passionate about safe working practices
  • Supportive, patient, and keen to help learners succeed
  • Willing to gain a teaching qualification
