Here at Bournemouth & Poole College, we are looking to recruit a Lecturer in Health on a full-time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £30,000 - £39,198 per annum.

The purpose of this post is to deliver high quality and effective teaching, learning and assessment to T Level Health students at Bournemouth and Poole College within the Science, Health and Humanities curriculum area. All students attend work placement as part of their study programme. The post holder will also act in a personal tutor capacity to students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to the recruitment and enrolment of eligible students on to a range of study programmes.
  • Teaching and developing clinical & care skills and theory, ensuring content, methods of delivery and learning materials meet the defined learning objectives for individual teaching sessions.
  • Developing a range of teaching resources and materials that meet the requirements of the specifications set by the awarding bodies, identifying learning objectives and outcomes for each session.
  • Contributing to high quality learning experiences using a variety of teaching and learning methods when teaching students in the classroom.
  • Ensuring that teaching is based on current best available practice and is consistent with a high standard of practice.
  • Providing academic and pastoral support to students in accordance with agreed procedures.
  • Supervising the work of students, providing advice on study skills and supporting them with their learning.

About You:

We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking educational leader who:

  • Has a recognised Teaching Qualification, or is prepared to gain this Qualification within the first two years of service.
  • Holds Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths qualifications.
  • Possesses a Degree, or Professional Qualification, which is appropriate for the role.
  • Has relevant occupational experience in Health and social care, or nursing (general and specialised).
  • Has knowledge of professional practice of working within the Health/Medical sector.
  • Exhibits excellent organisational skills and communication skills including written and verbal.
  • Demonstrates a flexible and adaptable attitude to working with students of all ages, primarily 16-19 year olds.
