Here at Bournemouth & Poole College, we have a position available for a Lecturer - Engineering and Lead IQA on a part time – 22.2 hours per week (0.6 FTE), permanent contract. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £24,224 - £27,327 pro rata (£40,374 - £45,546 per annum FTE).

The Lecturer - Engineering and Lead IQA Role: As our Lecturer - Engineering and Lead IQA, you will deliver high quality and effective teaching and learning in an engineering specialisation and be able to act as the Lead IQA for the area's Further Education provision.
Responsibilities as our Lecturer - Engineering and Lead IQA will include:
- Act as Lead IQA for the area being accountable for the integrity, consistency and standard of assessment decisions and ensuring compliance with awarding organisation and regulatory requirements (e.g. Ofqual).
- Contribute to the development and delivery of a range of educational programmes including identifying learning objectives; determining, designing and producing study material; planning course/study programme delivery.
- Contribute to high quality learning experiences using a variety of teaching and learning methods.
- Ensure that teaching is based on current best available practice and is consistent with a high standard of practice.
- Provide academic and pastoral support to students in accordance with agreed procedures.
- Manage student issues within agreed protocols.
- Take appropriate responsibility to ensure the health and safety of self and others.
- Employer and workplace/work placement visits.
- Educational guidance and counselling.
- Personal tutoring e.g., the carrying out of individual reviews with students, the delivery of group and individual tutorials. This may be delivered in person or through distance learning.

As our Lecturer - Engineering and Lead IQA, you'll ideally have:
- Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths Teaching Qualification or willingness to achieve within 2 years.
- Recognised assessor qualification Level 4 Certificate (Leading IQA) or equivalent.
- Current occupational competence and industry experience.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
- Communication skills including written and verbal.
