Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers and achieve their full potential? Bournemouth & Poole College is seeking a compassionate, proactive and dedicated Health & Therapy Support Coach to join our Student Experience – SEND team. In this rewarding role, you'll work directly with students who have a range of health, medical, sensory and communication needs, helping them access education, develop independence and achieve positive outcomes. About the Role

Working closely with the Student Health Practitioner and a range of internal and external professionals, you will help deliver health and therapy support that enables students to access learning and succeed during their time at College. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting students with identified health, medical, sensory and communication needs
  • Assisting with the assessment of support requirements and contributing to person-centred support plans
  • Reviewing care plans and risk assessments to ensure support remains effective and appropriate
  • Delivering targeted interventions and monitoring student progress and outcomes
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, support services and external agencies
  • Providing guidance, advocacy and signposting to appropriate support services
  • Maintaining accurate student records and preparing reports on caseload activity
  • Promoting health, wellbeing and inclusion through events, activities and peer-support initiatives
  • Supporting colleagues to implement strategies and recommendations from health and therapy professionals
  • Upholding confidentiality, safeguarding and GDPR requirements at all times

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting individuals with additional support needs
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to build positive relationships with students, families, staff and external professionals
  • Be organised and capable of managing a varied caseload
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Be able to advocate for students and support positive outcomes
  • Have strong administrative and record-keeping skills
  • Be resilient, empathetic and calm under pressure
  • Be committed to inclusion, safeguarding and student wellbeing
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team

Experience within education, SEND, health, therapy or support services would be advantageous.
