About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to provide front-line technical support across our Digital & Creative Media (DAM) and Digital & Computing (DAC) provision. Working across both Bournemouth and Poole campuses, you'll support a wide-ranging curriculum spanning film production, animation, esports, digital media and computing, ensuring students and staff have access to fully functional, industry-standard environments. You'll play a key part in enhancing the student experience—supporting lessons in real time, troubleshooting technical issues, and helping learners build skills and confidence in using professional tools and technologies.

What you'll be doing:

  • Preparing, setting up and maintaining studios, IT suites and specialist equipment
  • Providing in-lesson technical support to staff and students
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software and digital workflow issues
  • Supporting students in the safe and effective use of industry-standard equipment
  • Assisting teaching staff during practical sessions and assessments
  • Delivering small-group workshops and technical demonstrations
  • Supporting media production activities including filming, editing and content creation
  • Managing equipment, stock control, inventory and technical resources
  • Maintaining safe working practices and supporting risk assessments
  • Contributing to a positive, organised and professional learning environment

About you

You're a proactive and technically skilled individual with a passion for media, digital technologies and supporting learners. You will bring:

  • A Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths
  • Relevant industry qualification or degree in a related field
  • Strong, up-to-date industry experience in media, digital or computing
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting technical equipment
  • Knowledge of video production, photography and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Experience supporting learning, training or practical environments
  • Strong organisational, communication and IT skills
  • A proactive, professional and “can-do” approach
  • The ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and student success

Desirable:

  • Experience in education or the public sector
  • Knowledge of 3D tools (e.g. Blender) or studio lighting techniques
  • First Aid qualification (or willingness to achieve)
