Bournemouth Airport is seeking a commercially focused Cargo Development Manager to support the continued growth of its cargo operations. Working alongside the Head of Development, you will be responsible for developing and securing new cargo business, strengthening existing relationships, and contributing to the airport's long-term cargo strategy. This role combines business development, account management, and commercial negotiation within a dynamic aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities with airlines, brokers, freight forwarders, and shippers
  • Maintain and grow existing customer relationships to maximise revenue
  • Prepare and deliver clear, commercially sound proposals
  • Lead negotiations through to agreed commercial contracts
  • Represent the airport at relevant industry events and meetings (UK and internationally)
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure delivery aligns with commercial commitments
  • Identify opportunities for additional services and revenue streams
  • Support marketing activity through the development of relevant B2B content
  • Contribute to the development of the airport's cargo growth strategy

About You

You have experience in air cargo sales or aviation business development, supported by a strong industry network across airlines, freight forwarders, brokers, and logistics providers. Commercially astute and confident in negotiation, you understand both scheduled and ad hoc cargo operations, as well as the associated handling environment. You are organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple opportunities with a clear focus on delivery.
