Bourne HPP is a market leader in delivering championship-winning race engines, electronic packages, and bespoke calibration services. To support our ongoing success and the continued growth of our in-house race team and customer car build operations, we are seeking an experienced Chief Mechanic.
As the Workshop Lead for this department, you will be responsible for maintaining the high standards and technical precision that define Bourne HPP. You will work seamlessly across our engine build, dyno, design, and sales teams to ensure elite-level execution in the workshop and at the track.
Responsibilities- Lead the build of race cars and high-performance customer vehicles.
- Execute R&D, prototype, and development work to maintain our technical edge.
- Oversee the daily operations of our in-house race team.
- Provide expert UK, European, and worldwide track support.
- Manage and prioritise job lists while maintaining meticulous build records.
- Lead the workshop team in adhering to high-level procedures and professional work ethics.
- Maintain a consistently organised, efficient, and clean workshop environment.
- Experience: At least 10 years in high-level motorsport (GT, Touring Cars, or LMP preferred).
- Track Record: Previous experience as a Chief, Senior, Program Lead, or a high-level No. 1 Mechanic used to working in a professional team structure.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong engine installation knowledge (not build) is essential for prototype/development work.
- Compliance: Current passport and driver’s license are required; an LGV/HGV licence is a significant advantage.
