Bourne Estate Agents, a leading name in the Surrey property market, is looking for a driven and experienced Assistant Lettings Manager to join our growing team in Ash Vale. You’ll play a key part in supporting the Lettings Manager in running the department day-to-day — helping to manage the team, grow the lettings portfolio, and ensure the highest standards of service to landlords and tenants.
Key Responsibilities:- Lettings & Operations
- Support the Lettings Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations
- Manage lettings from instruction to move-in, ensuring speed, accuracy, and compliance
- Handle landlord and tenant communications, viewings, negotiations, and tenancy progression
- Coordinate property marketing on portals and ensure listings are optimised
- Team Leadership
- Mentor and guide junior lettings staff, assisting with training and onboarding
- Delegate daily responsibilities and help the team meet targets and KPIs
- Ensure high service standards and compliance across all staff activity
- Client Relationship Management
- Build long-term relationships with landlords and tenants, acting as a key point of contact
- Provide expert rental advice, market updates, and guidance on best practice
- Resolve any tenancy-related queries or issues in a timely and professional manner
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure full legal compliance with lettings legislation and internal policies
- Oversee paperwork including tenancy agreements, references, and inventories
- Stay updated with industry changes and ensure team-wide adherence
- Business Development
- Support local business growth through new landlord acquisition and referral generation
- Assist in marketing campaigns and lead follow-ups to expand the lettings portfolio
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in lettings or residential property management
- Experience in a team leader, senior negotiator, or assistant manager capacity
- Strong knowledge of lettings legislation and the UK rental market
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
- Comfortable working to targets in a performance-driven environment
- ARLA qualification (desirable) or willingness to study
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
