Full Time, permanent Office Based, Wolstanton, Staffordshire. We are an electrical contractors looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join our team based at our offices in Wolstanton, Staffordshire. The role will include other administration responsibilities to support the business operations (split, 3 days bookkeeping and 2 days administration per week).
Key Responsibilities:
- Recording and reconciling invoices, payments and bank transactions
- Processing of payroll
- Processing subcontractor invoices, CIS deductions and returns
- Sales and purchase ledger transactions (Sage Accounting)
- Ensuring the correct application of VAT and the VAT Reverse scheme
- Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
- Weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly journals and reporting
- Maintaining accurate transactional records
- Providing ad-hoc financial insight to support business decisions
This is a hands-on, varied role in a business that values accuracy, reliability and collaboration. Other administration work to support the business.
Candidate ideally will have:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, ideally within a similar industry
- Demonstrable, hands-on experience with Sage 50
- A solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Experience in preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
