We are seeking an experienced Cook to work in our Specialist Residential Support Service in Ammanford, SA18. In this role, you will prepare and cook well-prepared meals while maintaining a clean and organized food preparation area. You will have experience in meal planning and preparation as well as a knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations. Experience in busy kitchen environments and strong communication and record-keeping skills are an advantage.

Qualifications:

  • A Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable or a willingness to train.
  • An NVQ or QCF Level 2 in Catering or Hospitality is also desirable but not essential.
  • We will consider home cooks experienced in cooking large meals.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals, including special diets, ensuring residents' individual needs and preferences are met.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health and safety, and infection control.
  • Menu planning, stock ordering, budget management, and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Collaborate with support staff to align meals with care plans and engage with residents to promote enjoyable, healthy eating experiences.
