We are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to take full ownership of our commercial vehicle fleet while leading a skilled team of HGV Engineers. This is a key operational role, ensuring our vehicles remain safe, compliant, and ready to support our customers every day.

Day to Day
- Responsible for the operational compliance, maintenance and transport legislation implementation across the vehicles, trailers and equipment
- Ensure Safety and legal compliance with all statutory regulations and company standards, to work within agreed KPI's to deliver improved fleet availability
- Achieve transport related quality objectives
- Promoting a 'right first time' culture within your team, to internal and external customers
- Work with operational managers to implement improvement plans and monitor progress relating to compliance, accidents and fuel use
- Ensure vehicles and trailers are roadworthy, manage service providers; ensuring defects, service inspections and MOT's are carried out in accordance with maintenance agreements
- Ensure forward planning, MOT and Service slots ahead of time so as not to affect overall fleet availability to the operation
- Investigate accident trends, feedback to the operation with suggestions to drive reductions
- You'll be involved in various transport related project work to improve performance
- Responsibility regarding vehicle operations costs, coordinating the Fleet team who are responsible for maintenance and repair costs
- Maintain Health & Safety/ BRC/ Quality standards throughout the operational environment
- Recruit, develop and retain the best available talent and provide coaching, training and constructive feedback on a regular basis to ensure the team maximises its contributions to the business.
- Control of departmental budget, responsibility for LGV Technician teams and achieving of KPI’s
- Overseeing maintenance of HGV Vehicles and associated assets.
- Responsible for stock and components within the workshop area and the procurement of new equipment, refurbishment of existing equipment and the sale of equipment no longer required.
- Management of Periodic Maintenance Inspection Checks, MOTs, unscheduled defects and damage.
