About Bottomley Opticians
Bottomley Opticians is an independent, family-owned optical practice that has been serving Halifax since 1948. We are passionate about helping people see brilliantly and look their best through exceptional eye care, personalised styling and outstanding customer service. Unlike many optical practices, we offer a relaxed, appointment-led experience where clients receive dedicated one-to-one attention. We take the time to understand each person’s visual needs, lifestyle and style preferences, helping them choose eyewear they genuinely love wearing. Joining Bottomley Opticians means becoming part of a friendly, close-knit team where professionalism, kindness and attention to detail are valued every day. We encourage continuous learning, personal development and a collaborative approach to delivering an exceptional client experience.
The Role
This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Halifax practice. As an Eyewear Stylist, you will play an important role in helping clients choose eyewear that suits not only their prescription, but also their personality, lifestyle and individual style. You will be involved throughout the entire client journey, from welcoming clients into the practice through to styling consultations, dispensing, collections and aftercare. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming clients and creating a warm, friendly and professional experience.
- Conducting styling consultations and helping clients choose frames that complement their face shape, colouring and personal style.
- Explaining lens options, coatings and technologies in a clear and understandable way.
- Taking basic measurements and supporting the dispensing process.
- Adjusting and fitting spectacles to ensure comfort and optimum performance.
- Assisting with collections and aftercare appointments.
- Processing orders and following up with clients when required.
- Maintaining attractive product displays and ensuring the practice remains clean, organised and welcoming.
- Working closely with our optometrists and wider team to provide exceptional client care.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and takes pride in delivering excellent service. This role would particularly suit a self-starter who enjoys taking initiative, building relationships and taking ownership of their work. We’re looking for someone who is positive, proactive and enthusiastic, with a desire to continually learn and improve. You may come from an optical, fashion, luxury retail, hospitality or customer service background. Experience in optics is helpful but not essential, as training will be provided for the right person.

- Join a supportive and friendly team.
