We are a walled garden micro-nursery growing and sourcing rare, unusual, and climate-resilient plants for landscape architects and designers. Part working nursery, part living landscape, part experiment, things are always changing here. We care about plants. Deeply. And we’re building something special.
The Role
We are looking for someone experienced to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the nursery. You will be the main person on site, working independently most of the time, alongside the director who is often off-site. This is not a role where you wait to be told what to do, you will need to see what needs doing and get on with it.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Watering (properly, not just ticking a box)
- Weeding and general plant care
- Labelling and organising stock
- Moving and repositioning plants
- Loading and unloading deliveries
- Potting, repotting, and propagation
- Maintaining order across the nursery
- Preparing plants for trade customers
- Helping visiting designers and landscapers
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 10 years’ experience working with plants
- Strong, practical plant knowledge (you know what you’re looking at)
- Self-motivated and highly organised
- Able to work at a good pace without supervision
- Physically capable (this is a hands‑on role with heavy lifting)
- Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons
- Friendly and confident with customers
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience in a trade nursery or similar environment
What Matters Most
- Takes pride in their work
- Notices things before they become problems
- Keeps a space running smoothly
- Cares about plants, not just processes
If you like being busy, being outside, and being trusted to run something properly, this will suit you.
The Offer
- Full-time role
- A unique and evolving working environment
- The opportunity to help shape a growing nursery from the ground up
A Final Note
This is not a large team. This is not a corporate nursery. It’s a place for someone who knows what they’re doing, enjoys working independently, and wants to be part of building something meaningful.
