Front of House Lead (Cafe & Deli) in Ross on Wye

Botanica Café & Deli is looking for an experienced and motivated Front of House Lead to play a key role in the day-to-day running of our café. This is more than a supervisory position—it’s an opportunity to work closely with the Director to help shape the future of Botanica, driving standards, developing the team, and ensuring every customer receives an exceptional experience.

About the Role

As our Front of House Lead, you’ll be responsible for leading by example, creating a positive and professional working environment, and ensuring the smooth operation of front-of-house service. You’ll work collaboratively with the Director to identify opportunities for growth, improve systems and processes, and maintain consistency across every aspect of the customer journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the front-of-house team with confidence, professionalism, and positivity.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and create memorable guest experiences.
• Work alongside the Director to identify opportunities for business growth and operational improvements.
• Champion consistency in service, presentation, and day-to-day standards.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of team members.
• Motivate and coach the team to achieve high performance.
• Oversee daily opening and closing procedures and ensure the café operates efficiently.
• Manage stock levels, merchandising, and the presentation of the café and deli.
• Handle customer feedback professionally and proactively resolve issues.
• Take ownership of the front-of-house operation, ensuring Botanica’s values are reflected in everything we do.

• Has previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within hospitality.
• Barista trained and passionate about good coffee.
• Is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service.
• Has excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Leads with integrity, positivity, and accountability.
• Enjoys mentoring others and building a strong team culture.
• Is proactive, solution-focused, and always looking for ways to improve.
• Understands that consistency is key to creating an exceptional customer experience.
