About the role
The Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring the effective delivery of business objectives in line with organisational standards.
This role plays a key part in managing team performance, driving operational excellence, and ensuring high-quality outputs across procurement and tendering activities.
In this key position, you will take responsibility for a highly motivated team of Quotes & Tender experts.
Together with the sales team, you will be responsible for creating and managing offers, contracts, and tenders for our UKI customers.
You will not only optimise processes but, most importantly, lead a team that actively shapes the future of Boston Scientific.
This full-time permanent position is to be based from our office in Hemel and offers weekly hybrid working (three days in the office, two days remote).
Your responsibilities will include
- Lead, coach and develop a team to achieve operational and commercial objectives.
- Oversee daily workflow, ensuring tasks are prioritised and delivered efficiently.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
- Monitor team performance against agreed KPIs and service level agreements.
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements.
- Manage escalations, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Work closely with the sales teams to anticipate customer needs and implement them in the best possible way, all while ensuring adherence to internal compliance and quality guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across sales, finance, legal, and procurement.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of team members.
- Foster a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative team culture.
- Support successful implementation of European Quotes & Tender initiatives in the UKI region.
- Show proactive interest in general industry trends and their impact on our local and regional sales activities, especially in offer preparation, contract management, and tender processes.
- Oversee the end-to-end tendering and quotation processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and competitiveness.
- Ensure all submissions meet UKI procurement regulations, contractual obligations, and governance standards.
- Review and validate pricing, cost models, and commercial proposals prior to submission.
- Manage tender timelines, ensuring all deadlines are consistently met.
- Identify risks, compliance gaps, and commercial opportunities within bids.
- Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure alignment on bid strategy and execution.
What we are looking for in you
- Strong knowledge of procurement and tendering processes within a UKI environment.
- Experience working in a commercial, bids, or operational environment.
- Familiarity with procurement frameworks and compliance requirements in the UK and/or Ireland.
- Experience working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or team leadership role preferred.
- High level of commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Resilience and can work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and people management capability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
