Boston University Study Abroad London is seeking a lecturer to redesign and teach an elective course in Epidemiology as part of our Fall 2026 London Internship Programme for American study abroad students. The new Lecturer will be required to adapt the existing Sargent College course, Epidemiology 1, currently offered in Boston, for delivery in London. Preparatory work will be undertaken during Spring 2026, ahead of the first delivery in Fall 2026. The Epidemiology course will run in both Fall and Spring semesters from Fall 2026 onwards.

Fall 2026 teaching is due to commence from the week commencing 12th October. The course will be delivered in a 9-week pattern on Mondays or Fridays (AM or PM), amounting to 40 classroom contact hours across ten sessions in total, plus final exam coverage for the course, which will conclude on Friday 11th December. This is a temporary appointment with the potential to be renewed.

This course examines the distribution of health and diseases across the population, and the factors that impact health. It studies how we approach understanding disease distribution within the population. Through in-class presentations, real-world examples, exercises, and discussions, students become proficient in research methods, disease screening, and infectious disease outbreak investigation.
