THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a key role within our Club, responsible for delivering top-level care, injury prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for our Academy Age groups and U23's teams.

You'll work closely with the Head of Medical and Under 23's and Academy Coaches to optimise player availability and ensure elite level medical provision.

We're looking for someone with a proactive and organised approach, who thrives in high-pressure environments and is passionate about sports medicine.

  • WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Lead pitch-side medical cover for Under 23s and some Academy training, home and away fixtures.
  • To ensure all injuries, rehabilitation and assessments are reported to the Head of Medical.
  • To provide evidence-based assessment, treatment and rehabilitation programmes for all players.
  • Play an active role in developing and enhancing the treatment and management of injuries programmes, including keeping up to date with current research developments and guidelines.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate medical notes in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures, complying with the core standards of The Society of Sports Therapists.
  • To liaise closely with Head of Medical and all coaching staff to keep them fully informed of diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation progress, and general player wellbeing and fitness status.
  • To analyse and review the treatment and management of injuries programmes on a regular basis to adapt the programmes to meet specific player and squad needs.
  • To always maintain medical confidentiality.
  • Maintain qualifications to at least the minimum standard as required by the Football Association, FA Safeguarding Children Certificate; FA DBS check & FA EMFAIF (Minimum).
  • YOU’LL NEED

BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation, registered with CSP, SST, or BASRAT.

Valid EMFAIF, FA Safeguarding Children Course, and Player Welfare in Open Age Football Course.

A working knowledge of professional football and the ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.

A full driving licence and willingness to travel.

Desirable : FA Level 4/5 trauma management qualifications, academy football experience, or a sports science/S&C background.
