Boston Tea Party

Love cooking. Keep your evenings.

We’re looking for a brilliant Chef to join our Boston Tea Party kitchen team.

If you love working with food but you're not quite as keen on the late nights, split shifts and shouty kitchen culture that can come with hospitality, you might like it here.

Our kitchens are busy. Really busy sometimes.

But they're also supportive, energetic places where everyone gets stuck in, people are encouraged to develop and we believe you can produce brilliant food without the big egos.

And because we're a daytime café business, you can have a career as a chef and still have your evenings.

What you'll be doing

You'll be right at the heart of our kitchen, cooking brilliant food and working alongside your team to get it out consistently — even when the checks are flying in.

You'll:

  • Prepare and cook our food to brilliant Boston standards.

  • Work across different sections of the kitchen.

  • Keep your section organised, stocked and ready for service.

  • Take pride in every plate that leaves the kitchen.

  • Follow our food safety, allergen and kitchen standards.

  • Help with prep and make sure we're ready for the busy periods.

  • Look after our ingredients and help us reduce unnecessary food waste.

  • Keep the kitchen clean, safe and organised.

  • Support the people around you when service gets busy.

  • Keep learning and developing your skills.

Who we're looking for

Some kitchen experience would be great, but we're just as interested in your attitude and approach to food.

You might already be working as a Chef or Chef de Partie. You might be early in your kitchen career and looking for somewhere you can really develop.

What matters is that you care about the food you serve, work well as part of a team and want to keep getting better.

You'll be someone who:

Fuels Growth
You're curious and want to develop your skills. You listen, learn and take pride in getting better at what you do.

Leads Responsibly
You understand that great kitchens rely on doing the basics brilliantly. You care about food safety, allergens, cleanliness and consistency, and take responsibility for your section.

Makes Connections
You know a great service is a team effort. You communicate, help the people around you and don't disappear when someone else is in the weeds.

What's in it for you?

First up: daytime hours.

We're a café business, so you won't be starting dinner service just as everyone else is thinking about going home.

That doesn't mean our kitchens aren't serious about food. You'll work in a fast-paced environment, build your skills and learn from experienced kitchen leaders.

And if you want to progress, there's a route for you.

Chef → Assistant Kitchen Manager → Kitchen Manager.

We'll help you develop the skills to take that next step when you're ready.

You'll also get a great package of Boston benefits and join a business where we believe the way you treat people matters just as much as the standards you set.

Good Eggs Only

We've been doing things a little differently since 1995.

We care about great food, great coffee, our communities and doing business in a way we're proud of.

Our kitchens should be places where people can learn, work hard, have a laugh and go home proud of what they've served.

No big egos. No shouty chef culture. Just good food made by good people.

If that sounds like your kind of kitchen, we'd love to meet you.

Come and cook with us.
