Boston Spa Academy is seeking to recruit a highly organised andmotivated colleague to the role of Science Technician. This is an importantposition within the Academy, with the successful candidate playing a key rolein supporting the delivery of an outstanding science curriculum. Workingclosely with the Curriculum Leader of Science, the postholder will ensure thesmooth and efficient operation of the Science laboratories, preparing andmaintaining equipment and resources to support practical teaching and learning.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation,maintenance and organisation of laboratory equipment and materials, supportingstaff and students during practical activities, maintaining stock and inventoryrecords, and ensuring that laboratories operate safely and effectively. Therole requires a proactive and reliable individual who is able to work on theirown initiative, manage competing priorities and contribute positively to a busydepartment.
Potential applicantsshould have:
- GCSE grade 4/C and above in Science orequivalent qualification.
- Computerliteracy and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word andExcel.
- Familiaritywith laboratory apparatus and chemicals.
- Strongorganisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Theability to work effectively as part of a team and use their own initiative tomeet deadlines and priorities.
