Purpose Statement

Vascular Therapies represent a fast-growing market with exciting opportunities to strengthen our category leadership across different franchises. While driving the right focus, we strive to maximize our full portfolio of innovations and enable more patients to benefit from our therapies around the world.

Create, direct, and lead the development and execution of the Cluster commercial strategy for the full Vascular Therapies portfolio, assuming accountability for overall sales and P&L performance. Establish and maintain market leadership by developing commercial strategies, optimizing execution with country teams, and driving Vascular Therapies growth initiatives aligned with divisional and cluster objectives.

This role shapes long‑term Vascular Therapies strategic direction through market analysis, customer segmentation, and identification of unmet needs. This role leads and develops People Managers, fosters cross‑functional collaboration, and ensures that all Vascular Therapies commercial activities comply with BSC quality and regulatory requirements. This role ensures alignment and orchestration of customer engagement strategies, leveraging Integrated Marketing Communications and omnichannel capabilities to maximize portfolio visibility and accelerate adoption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Industry Knowledge
    • Maintain a deep understanding of the Vascular Therapies market, including the broader healthcare ecosystem, competitive landscape, technology trends, and clinical and economic drivers.
    • Provide continuous education and tools to the team to remain current on industry, competitor, and product updates.
    • Collect field insights.
  • Business Management & Sales Leadership
    • Conduct regular sales reviews with Sales Managers and cluster leaders.
    • Identify forecast gaps and propose corrective strategies.
    • Ensure strong territory management and develop targeting and segmentation models for the Vascular Therapies franchise.
    • Drive account penetration, referral development, and customer expansion strategies, focusing on high‑potential regions.
    • Align sales execution closely with country leadership to ensure effective implementation of commercial priorities.
    • Demonstrate a commercially driven and execution‑focused mindset, aligning business priorities with omnichannel activation plans to deliver measurable growth, portfolio visibility, and sustainable market impact.
    • Identify and develop new business opportunities across key franchises.
  • Strategic Leadership & Business Development
    • Lead development of the Vascular Therapies Strategic Plan through opportunity assessment and customer segmentation.
    • Define and continuously refine the Vascular Therapies portfolio strategy, ensuring clear articulation of value propositions, prioritization of growth platforms, lifecycle management, and alignment between global innovation roadmap and regional market needs.
    • Ensure effective deployment of Integrated Marketing Communications and omnichannel capabilities in support of portfolio strategy and commercial execution.
    • Identify emerging market trends, disruptive opportunities, and competitive threats.
    • Influence global teams by representing EMEA market needs and leveraging global resources.
    • Develop commercial strategies to win against competitors and new entrants.
  • Marketing & Market Development
    • Build and execute the Vascular Therapies marketing strategy, including positioning, messaging, value propositions, IMC and omnichannel programs.
    • Ensure clear portfolio positioning and articulation across customer segments, translating complex clinical and economic value into compelling commercial narratives.
    • Collaborate with cluster and country marketing teams to enhance productivity and profitability in high potential regions.
    • Develop customer education and training programs in partnership with Medical Affairs, Marketing, and Learning & Development.
    • Lead KOL engagement, advisory structures, and thought leadership collaborations.
    • Leverage deep business and industry knowledge to translate insights into impactful Integrated Marketing Communications strategies.
    • Proven expertise in leading Integrated Marketing Communications and Omnichannel teams, ensuring cohesive brand positioning, optimized channel mix, and consistent customer engagement across all touchpoints.
  • New Product/Program Introduction & Training
    • Prepare markets for new Vascular Therapies product launches or operational/technical program rollouts.
    • Ensure adequate technical, clinical, and commercial training for sales teams and customers.
    • Support proctoring, centers of excellence, and education pathways needed to accelerate Vascular Therapies adoption.
  • Creative Economic & Value‑Added Solutions
    • Partner with Key Account Management, Contracting, HEMA, and HS&P to build multi‑year commercial solutions and bundled value offerings.
    • Evaluate opportunities considering customer and country business needs.
    • Support negotiation strategies for economically constrained environments.
  • Relationship Building
    • Maintain strong relationships with major accounts, engineering/technical centers, and strategic clinical partners.
    • Develop strong collaborations and partnerships with key Vascular Surgeons, Interventional Radiologists, Interventional Cardiologists, and referral networks.
    • Represent the Vascular Therapies organization in internal and external forums, societies, and industry events (e.g., PVI, LINC, Charing Cross, FYA, CIRSE, ESVS, EuroPCR).
    • Partner with key stakeholders to develop educational programs and enhance therapy/technology adoption.
  • Quality, Compliance & Governance
    • Guide the Vascular Therapies team in full compliance with BSC’s Quality System, regional regulations, and Code of Conduct.
    • Drive quality awareness and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Participate in Management Review of Quality meetings as appropriate.
  • People Development
    • Lead and develop People Managers, ensuring ongoing coaching, performance management, and talent development.
    • Build a high‑performing Vascular Therapies commercial team aligned with strategic priorities.
    • Promote a diverse and inclusive environment enabling team members to reach full potential.

Preferred Key Requirements

  • 15+ years of sales and marketing leadership within medical devices or related technical industries. Experience managing cross‑cultural teams in a matrix environment.
  • Qualifications: Biomedical Engineering, scientific, or business degree; MBA preferred.
  • Languages: Fluency in English; other languages are an asset.
  • MedTech Experience: Proven business acumen, strong record in building successful business strategies, P&L management, and leading high‑performing teams. Demonstrated experience in market and therapy development.
  • Technical Knowledge: Experience coaching sales teams, influencing KOLs, navigating complex engineering or clinical fields, and launching new product/technology solutions.
