We are currently working with an education provider in the Derbyshire area who are looking for a Motor Vehicle Course Leader/Tutor to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. The position would consist of 37 hours of work per week, and would involve both leading and teaching on the automotive training provision (up to level 3). This could be an ideal post for someone who is looking to move up the education management ladder.
The day to day Course Leadership duties would be to:
- Promote and develop innovative learning, assessment and teaching
- Develop learning and ILT materials to support and enhance the students’ learning, attainment, achievement, success and assessment of their work
- Monitor individual students’, groups’ and course(s)’ performance and identify appropriate support
- Attend regular course team meetings, assessment meetings and IV moderation meetings
- Assist with the co-ordination and organisation of work placements
- Continually develop the curriculum content and provision and, where appropriate, course approval
- Actively participate in course marketing, recruitment, attendance and retention
- Assist with the annual programme, course review and evaluation
- Timetabling of courses to enhance the student experience
- Continuous development of own knowledge and skills, teaching practices and qualifications
- Contribute towards the health and safety standards and expectations within department
The starting salary would be between £30,624 and £36,590 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience), a golden hello of £4,500 (paid in three instalments in your first year), and you would also get a teacher's pension (with employer contributions of 28.68%) in addition to a holiday allocation of 42 days (plus 8 days for Bank Holidays).
