Our Trusted CMDB initiative is building and scaling that single source of truth, the foundation for our Asset Intelligence and Resilience program.

As the Service Now CMDB and Asset Principal Engineer, you will play a senior hands‑on role in building on the success of our Service Asset & Configuration Management (SACM) processes.

You will act as the technical counterpart to the Product Owner, owning delivery quality and the technical roadmap while staying close to the implementation in Service Now.

As a senior engineering leadership role, you will own the hard technical calls (complex design, configuration, troubleshooting, critical implementation) and lead a blended team of engineers by setting standards, reviewing designs, and contributing directly to every sprint.

  • YOU’RE GOOD AT
  • Building and debugging complex Service Now solutions and staying current with the platform.
  • Deep Service Now Asset & Configuration Management across CMDB, Configuration Management, ITAM, HAM, and SAM, including CSDM, integrations, reconciliation, and lifecycle governance.

HAM Pro or SAM Pro experience is strongly valued.

  • Making sound, defensible technical decisions across data models, integrations, reconciliation logic, automation, and controls, spotting risks early, and holding firm when data trust or platform integrity is at stake.
  • Bringing a clear technical view into roadmap, compliance, audit, and license discussions, and representing technical trade‑offs and options to the Product Owner and stakeholders.
  • Providing technical leadership across blended teams of internal and contingent engineers, setting standards and driving accountability.
  • Acting as a hands‑on technical leader, contributing directly to sprint delivery, particularly on complex stories, configuration decisions, troubleshooting, and high‑impact changes.
  • YOU BRING
  • 10+ years working as a Service Now engineer, technical lead, or architect, with specialized expertise in IT Asset & Configuration Management.
  • Recent hands‑on delivery on the Service Now platform. You have personally built and debugged complex solutions within the last year.
  • Hands‑on experience implementing and governing CMDB in a complex enterprise environment: CMDB architecture, CI class design, IRE, CSDM alignment, relationship modeling, lifecycle governance, CMDB Health, data quality management, and remediation.
  • Software Asset Management depth, including software model normalization, publisher packs, license metrics, entitlement reconciliation, and audit defense.

SAM Pro experience is strongly valued.

  • Experience designing, building, and governing integrations with Service Now Discovery, Service Mapping, Intune, Jamf, Lansweeper, Workday, SAP, Coupa, or equivalent platforms.
  • Service Now certifications expected: CSA as a baseline; CIS‑SAM, CIS‑HAM, CMDB, Discovery, ITOM, or Service Mapping related certifications are strongly valued.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner across engineering, product, and governance teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • YOU’LL WORK WITH

You will be part of the IT & Business Platforms (ITBP) team, working inside the SACM & Service Now Core squad alongside the Scrum Lead, Product Owner, and engineers, and partnering closely with SACM stakeholders and the Security, Cloud, and Architecture teams.

Together you will design and deliver scalable, maintainable, and well‑architected solutions across the Service Now SACM ecosystem, making trusted asset and configuration data the foundation BCG relies on to stay secure, cost‑efficient, and resilient.
