What You'll Do
As a Global IT Configuration Engineer Manager on BCG’s IT HR Systems Group, you will serve as a hands-on configuration expert across Workday, with deep focus on Advanced Compensation—designing, building, and maintaining salary, bonus, eligibility rules, and cycle frameworks—while also supporting configuration across Core HCM, Security, and other modules as needed to ensure cohesive, scalable system design aligned with business strategy. You will work with Global Comp Stakeholders and Product Team to translate BCG’s compensation strategy into scalable Workday solutions, combining technical configuration and functional expertise to ensure accurate execution of compensation cycles, data integrity, and continuous platform improvement.
YOU’RE GOOD AT
- Plan and Execute Comp Configuration: Design and build intricate variable pay, merit, bonus, allowances, including compensation review statements, and the overall coordination of events within Workday.
- Cycle Management: Own the end-to-end execution of Annual Salary Reviews, mass operation management, and merit grid setups.
- Business Processes: Configure Business Process Frameworks (BPF), condition rules, validations, and complex calculated fields.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Product Team and HR/Compensation leaders to translate business strategies into scalable, system-wide solutions.
- Testing: Perform Testing, validate self and peer configurations, and troubleshoot system defects during Workday releases.
- Documentation: Create clear and comprehensive specification documents for application modifications and new functionality additions, for Workday.
- Data Integrity & Audits: Ensure the accuracy of compensation data and maintain internal compliance and audit processes.
- Workday Technology: Stay abreast of functional & development tools, including Workday AI offerings, trends and practices, and act as an evangelist for items that should be considered for future initiatives.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or information systems with 7+ years of deep, hands-on configuration experience with Workday Advanced Compensation and Core Compensation is a must.
- Strong Understanding of merit pools, compensation review statements, proration rules, complex scorecards, grade setups, eligibility rules, etc. and integration points with Core HCM, Talent modules and third-party payroll systems is a must.
- Certification, such as Workday Pro - Advanced Compensation, is strongly preferred.
- Prior Consulting experience as a Workday Comp Lead or an architect role on end-to-end implementation projects is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience with large, global companies with complex enterprise-scale comp implementations in Workday is strongly preferred.
- Experience developing and executing comprehensive test plans to ensure high quality before deployment is preferred.
- Familiarity with Workday Docs and BIRT to build templates and control dynamic field visibility, and with Workday Security Configuration, is preferred.
- Technical troubleshooting skills, including debugging and analysis of performance issues, is preferred.
- Skilled in stakeholder management, offering training and support to end-users during annual compensation cycles while delivering exceptional customer service year-round for L3 support items is preferred.

- Other members of the HR IT team, including the Workday Delivery Team, the Comp squad, and other squads under the People Portfolio.
- Global Comp stakeholders to translate business strategies into scalable, system-wide solutions.
- QA Teams for testing on specific enhancements and software releases.
