Role

As part of BCG’s Global Communications team, the Global External Communications team’s mandate is to shape and amplify BCG’s global reputation through high-impact media engagement, crafting compelling content, planning focused media outreach and supporting activation in regions and markets. The Global Corporate Communications Director role is focused on supporting BCG’s external corporate communications through developing and delivering communications strategies for:

  • Leadership and Executive positioning
  • Corporate narrative
  • Strategic alliances and partnership communications
  • Client case stories

The Global Corporate Communications Director is responsible for stewarding the end-to-end communications process and gathering input from the entire Marketing and Communications organization. In addition, the Global Corporate Communications Director will coordinate Public Relations strategy across BCG’s SBUs (Strategic Business Units, e.g. Platinion, Quantis etc.). This position directly reports to the head of Global External Communications and requires close collaboration with teams across Marketing & Communications, including Executive Positioning, Internal Communications, regional and market representatives, and others (e.g., Chief of Staff office).

What You’ll Do

  • Research and develop strategic narrative, including gathering all required inputs from the organization
  • Partner with Executive Positioning and/or Chief of Staff office on corporate narrative/trust and brand topics
  • Draft, revise, and get stakeholder buy‑in on corporate communications content
  • Partner with regions and markets for corporate communications media placement
  • Partner with Strategic Alliances team to develop and deliver communications strategy for BCG alliances, partnerships and acquisitions
  • Engage and build specific top‑tier media relations (relationship building and pitching)
  • Drive corporate communications leadership and collaboration
  • Serve as corporate communications point person for regions and markets
  • Align messaging with Internal Communications
  • Partner with Global External Communications team members (cover BCG Practice Areas, major campaigns and markets)
  • Select, media‑train and brief spokespersons as needed
  • Closely partner with Chief of Staff office on all CEO‑related corporate communications
  • Work with BCG SBU communication leads to align with BCG’s global communications strategy

YOU’RE GOOD AT

  • Earned media relations: Journalist relationship management, media relations strategy, knowledge of the news cycle, story mining
  • Content creation: Topic research, development of media‑worthy content
  • Writing: Executive‑level writing, journalistic writing, social writing
  • Media briefing: Briefing senior spokespeople and staffing top‑tier media interviews
  • Project management: Structuring of projects, management of stakeholders, leadership towards joint delivery of results
  • Innovation: Bringing new communications technologies, capabilities to increase communications effectiveness and reach
  • Analytics: Data‑driven insights to align corporate communications strategy with business outcomes, including market research insights into overall corporate communications strategy
  • Teaming: Collaboration with own team (Global External Communications) and adjacent teams (e.g., Chief of Staff office, Internal Communications, Executive Positioning, market representatives and others)

What You'll Bring

  • 10‑12+ years demonstrated experience shaping corporate communications/media strategies for major brands, markets or portfolios
  • Strong track record of commissioning media‑ready thought leadership, opinion pieces, and commentary
  • Experience in writing or editing for a major media outlet preferred
  • Deep, senior‑level media relationships with top‑tier outlets and influencers
  • Experience in speech writing e.g., for a member of a government body, think tank, or an economic board preferred
  • Experience in developing and delivering successful and measurable B2B media and/or corporate communications strategies for portfolios, regions or enterprise‑level priorities
  • Ability to align content ideation with commercial objectives and media outcomes
  • Experience in managing multiple projects with diverse, high‑level stakeholders
