What You’ll Do

As Global Strategic Projects Director – Industry Practices, you will help shape and execute the strategic agenda for BCG’s global Industry Practices, partnering with senior leadership to deliver initiatives that strengthen our operating model, accelerate strategic priorities, and enable lasting impact across the business.

You will lead strategic initiatives that advance BCG’s Industry Practice Areas, partnering closely with global leadership to shape priorities, drive execution, and deliver measurable business impact.

Working across practices and functions, you will bring structure to complex programs, align stakeholders, and ensure critical initiatives are executed effectively.

In this role, you will serve as a trusted partner to Industry Practice leadership, translating strategic priorities into actionable plans while enabling collaboration across global teams.

You will balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution, ensuring initiatives remain aligned with business objectives and are delivered with quality and pace.

  • Lead the planning, prioritization, and execution of the Industry Practice Area portfolio in partnership with the central Industry Practices team, ensuring effective resource allocation and portfolio governance.
  • Direct high‑impact strategic projects from concept through implementation, providing thought leadership while driving execution, change management, and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead cross‑functional collaboration across Industry Practice Areas and BCG functions to deliver complex global strategic initiatives, aligning stakeholders and driving execution across organizational boundaries.
  • Monitor project and portfolio performance, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities, while providing concise updates and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Drive alignment across stakeholders by managing interdependencies, facilitating decision‑making, and ensuring timely communication across Practice Area teams.
  • Shape agendas, content, and strategic discussions for key Industry Practice leadership forums, including Practice Area Leader (PAL) and Global Practice Management Director (GPMD) meetings.
  • Develop executive‑ready materials, updates, and recommendations for senior governance forums, including the Executive Committee, Operating Committee, and other global leadership meetings.
  • Act as a trusted thought partner to Industry Practice GPMDs, providing strategic counsel, problem‑solving support, and execution leadership on priority initiatives.
  • What You’ll Bring
  • 10+ years of experience leading complex strategic initiatives, transformation programs, or enterprise‑wide projects within a global, matrixed organization, professional services, or consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategic priorities into executable plans and deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Proven success influencing senior stakeholders and driving alignment across complex, cross‑functional organizations without direct authority.
  • Strong program and portfolio management experience, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, dependencies, and risks simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, structured thinking, and communication skills, with experience preparing executive‑level materials and facilitating strategic discussions.
  • Track record of building collaborative relationships across global teams and navigating complex organizational environments with confidence and diplomacy.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree such as an MBA or equivalent graduate qualification preferred.
  • Who You’ll Work With

Reporting to the Industry Practices Management Executive Director, you will partner closely with Industry Practice Leaders (PALs), Global Practice Management Directors (GPMDs), and colleagues across the global Industry Practice organization to advance strategic priorities and key initiatives.

You will collaborate extensively with Client Teams, Regional Practice Management teams, and partners across BCG functions—including Finance, HR, Marketing, Knowledge, and Operations—to align priorities, drive execution, and enable enterprise‑wide impact.

This role sits at the center of BCG’s global Industry Practices organization, offering the opportunity to shape strategic initiatives that strengthen how our practices operate and deliver value across the firm.
