Success Coach (Reduced Year)

Full-Time On-site
Boston College

We are looking for a proactive and student-focused Success Coach to join our established student support provision at Boston College. You will provide pastoral, wellbeing, engagement and progression support to help students overcome barriers, stay engaged and achieve their potential.

Working alongside curriculum and support teams, you will complement the work of curriculum tutors by providing individual and, where appropriate, group-based support. You will also support the tutorial process by facilitating timetabled group tutorial sessions. You will build positive professional relationships with students, provide proactive and solution-focused support, and help students get back on track where needed.

You will support student voice and advocacy, helping students communicate concerns and access appropriate support. You will also maintain accurate records of concerns, interventions and support using College systems and follow safeguarding procedures, appropriately escalating any concerns.

Experience of working with young people in an education, pastoral, mentoring, youth work, wellbeing or similar setting is desirable. We welcome applications from candidates with relevant transferable experience and a genuine commitment to supporting young people.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with a flexible and positive approach, are essential.

A full driving licence is essential due to the requirement to travel between college sites.

Applicants who have 'at risk' status will be entitled to a preferential interview if they demonstrate that they meet the essential criteria shown in the person specification.
