About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding and market leading ticketing and event management platform is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to play a key role in their Business Development team for this software business as they accelerate their growth in the UK and beyond.

The Business Development Manager will be a part of a rapidly growing team leading the charge on identifying and closing new opportunities across multiple verticals within the event organiser community.

This is a hybrid role reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer.

The Business Development Manager will be based at least three days per week in their Central London office and the rest of the week working from home.

  • Main responsibilities
  • Delivering consistent success against quarterly targets, contracting new event organisers onto the our client's platform.
  • Building and maintaining a robust pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities, leveraging networking, cold calling, and relationship-building techniques to establish connections with decision-makers and influencers.
  • Leading the end-to-end sales process, from initial contact and prospecting to negotiation and closing, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with company objectives and client needs.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, particularly the account management team, to develop tailored solutions and proposals that address client requirements and drive value.
  • Staying informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive developments, providing insights and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making and product development initiatives.
  • Accountability for your performance metrics and pipeline activity, providing regular updates and reports to sales management and stakeholders.
  • Client networking, including attending industry and client events from time-to-time.
  • Must-haves
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles within the events, entertainment, or ticketing industry, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate value propositions, influence decision-makers, and close complex deals.
  • Strategic thinker with a customer-centric mindset, capable of identifying market opportunities, anticipating client needs, and developing innovative solutions to drive business success.
  • Results-oriented with a passion for exceeding targets and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, sales automation tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A team player, available to help sales colleagues when needed to generate success for the business.
  • Nice to have-
  • Sales or Account Management experience working within a fast-growing technology company.
  • Experience within a start-up, scale up, fast growth SME or investor backed business.
  • An understanding of ticketing and event management, including if you have repped for events companies or created your own event.
  • Demonstrable address book within the Event Organiser community.
