We are seeking a skilled and motivated Security Installation/ Service Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of electronic security systems, including CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, and intercom systems. The role requires excellent technical knowledge, customer service skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and commission security systems including CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, and door entry systems within budgeted and sold margins.
- Perform PPM servicing and routine call outs of installed systems ensuring optimal functionality, PPM compliance and highest levels of customer satisfaction.
- Diagnose faults, perform repairs, and replace faulty components as needed.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers during and after installations.
- Complete all relevant documentation and reports accurately and on time.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Participate in an on-call rota to provide emergency response support as required.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working condition.
- Stay current with new technologies and advancements in security systems.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Security Systems Engineer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of electronic security systems (e.g., Hikvision, Texecom, Paxton, Honeywell, Axis, Bosch, Lenel).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Full UK driving licence (or equivalent if outside the UK).
- Valid ECS or equivalent security system engineering certification preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to pass background checks (DBS) for working in sensitive environments.
- Positive and versatile contributor, that can operate as part of a dynamic team.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of networking and IP-based systems.
- Experience with fire alarm systems.
- Manufacturer training certifications.
- CSCS card or equivalent.
