Overview:
A leading provider of electrolyser technology and electrode coatings for the chlor-alkali and green hydrogen industries is seeking aContract Senior Process Engineer to support alkaline water electrolysis (AWE) projects. This role focuses on the process design of the balance of plant (BoP) for electrolyser stacks and involves working across the full project lifecycle; from concept through to execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver process design activities from conceptual to detailed design for AWE plants.
- Execute process engineering tasks for multi-disciplinary projects, including FEL2/3 stages through to implementation.
- Provide technical expertise on AWE technology and hydrogen plant systems during project execution and bid support.
- Participate in hazard studies, including SIL and LOPA assessments.
- Collaborate with the technology development team to gain a deep understanding of AWE systems.
- Develop technical documentation such as reports, design guides, process templates, supporting calculations, CTRs, and standard project execution materials.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in the hydrogen or chlor-alkali sectors is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership in process design for multi-disciplinary projects across all design phases.
- Strong knowledge of process safety management; hydrogen safety experience is a plus.
- Ability to apply first-principles thinking and a strong interest in understanding new technologies.
- Proficiency in process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen, HYSYS).
- Degree in Chemical Engineering; Chartered Engineer status .
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
