We are seeking an experienced SAP Programme Director to lead a large-scale, complex SAP transformation programme on behalf of the client. This role requires full ownership of the programme lifecycle—from Phase 0 mobilisation through to delivery and embedding—with accountability for outcomes at executive level.
The successful candidate will operate as the senior accountable leader, overseeing delivery partners, system integrators, and internal stakeholders across a multi-million-pound transformation.
Key Responsibilities:- Programme Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end SAP programme lifecycle (mobilisation → delivery → deployment → benefits realisation)
- Act as the single point of accountability for programme success on behalf of the client
- Establish and maintain programme governance, reporting, and controls at board level
- Drive strategic alignment between business objectives and SAP delivery
- Phase 0 / Mobilisation
- Define and lead Phase 0 activities, including: programme setup and operating model, governance structures and decision frameworks, resourcing strategy (internal + SI partners), delivery roadmap and milestones
- Shape the overall transformation approach (e.g. S/4HANA roadmap, migration strategy)
- Stakeholder & Executive Engagement
- Engage C-suite and senior stakeholders, including steering committees
- Provide clear, confident reporting on progress, risks, and financials
- Influence decision-making at executive level
- Delivery Oversight
- Lead and challenge System Integrators and third-party suppliers
- Ensure delivery against scope, time, cost, and quality expectations
- Manage programme risks, issues, and dependencies across multiple workstreams
- Proven track record as a Programme Director leading large-scale SAP transformations
- Demonstrable experience delivering end-to-end SAP lifecycle programmes (including S/4HANA)
- Experience leading Phase 0 / mobilisation activities from inception
- Experience operating client-side, with full accountability for programme outcomes
- Strong background managing Tier 1 System Integrators and complex supplier landscapes
- Experience working in highly regulated environments (e.g. government, defence, utilities)
