Make your mark as an ROV TA / Technical Support person in the Remote Technology Group, for Boskalis Subsea Services located in Aberdeen. The ROV TA / Technical Support role will support the ROV Manager with ROV operations, including internal and external stakeholders such as in-house ROV Suppliers, BSS Vessel Managers and Technical Superintendents, Tendering and engineering teams in the planning, preparation, maintenance and safe execution of all ROV requirements throughout BSS.
The ROV TA / Technical Support will be responsible for providing technical support and operational assistance for in-house ROV systems, along with supporting the design and development of specialist tooling for ROV operations. This includes the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of ROV equipment, as well as supporting offshore operations to ensure the safe and efficient operation of ROVs in various underwater tasks.
The ROV TA / Technical Support will provide a link between any 3rd party ROV providers to BSS and analyze/understand the requirements of BSS Operations and apply them to any 3rd party ROV providers to ensure efficiency, safety and value for money is maintained throughout the fleet. The role includes responsibilities related to supporting remote operations from the Remote Operations Centre (ROC).
Your responsibilities as ROV TA / Technical Support (Onshore):
- ROV Maintenance and Repair: Support routine maintenance and repairs on ROV systems and associated equipment. Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues with ROVs and implement effective solutions. Ensure all ROV equipment is in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Support the commercial department with tender opportunities.
- Operational Support: Assist in the planning and execution of ROV operations, including mobilization and demobilization of ROV systems. Provide technical support during offshore operations, including real-time troubleshooting and problem-solving. Collaborate with the ROV operations team to ensure safe and efficient ROV deployment and retrieval.
- Remote Operations Support: Monitor and manage real-time data and video feeds from remote ROV operations. Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance to remote ROV pilots and technicians. Implement and maintain communication protocols between the ROC and field teams. Ensure seamless coordination and support for remote ROV missions through the ROC.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work logs and equipment manuals. Prepare detailed reports on ROV performance, incidents, and maintenance activities. Ensure proper documentation of all modifications and upgrades to ROV systems.
- Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to ROV operators and technicians on the operation and maintenance of ROV systems. Stay updated with the latest advancements in ROV technology and industry best practices. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures during ROV operations and maintenance activities. Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments of ROV equipment and operations. Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and standards.
You can make your mark as ROV TA / Technical Support (Onshore) if you have:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in ROV operations or a similar role.
- Experience in supporting remote operations and familiarity with ROC protocols an advantage.
- Relevant qualification(s) or Oil & Gas Subsea experience in Mechanical, Structural, Civil Engineering, or an equivalent field.
- Proven Track Record in ROV operations along with Strong technical knowledge of ROV systems, including electronics, hydraulics, and mechanical components.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure and familiarity with industry standards such as IMCA.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
