In your job you will work for the offshore energy division. Boskalis has one of the largest global fleets of specialized offshore vessels, allowing us to carry out a broad range of offshore activities. We provide innovative and sustainable all-round solutions to tackle major worldwide maritime challenges. Our Offshore Energy division supports sustainable energy solutions such as wind energy as well as traditional fossil facilities. We’re involved in the entire journey from developing and transporting to maintaining and decommissioning these facilities.
In the role of electrical specialist, you will be part of Centre of Expertise and provide technical support to the Boskalis Offshore Energy Division Fleet and Projects on electrical, automation and DP technical matters. Your responsibilities include:
- Ensuring availability and reliability of all electrical equipment, automation and DP systems on our vessels.
- Advising fleet management and vessel team on electrical equipment, automation and DP systems.
- Assisting with the day-to-day technical support and troubleshooting.
- Providing technical support and guidance during dockings and repairs.
- Contributing to ongoing review and improvement of the PMS.
- Developing fleet critical spares policy, and product life cycle management.
- Inspecting vessels and allocated equipment.
- Visiting suppliers and vendors.
- Coaching and guiding vessel and fleet teams on matters relevant to the efficient and safe operation of the allocated equipment and systems.
You can make your mark as Electrical Specialist if you have:
- At least 10 years relevant experience (as ETO on DP vessels, or with design, installation, commissioning and servicing from yard / OEM / service company).
- Preferably with a degree in a relevant subject.
- Experience with vessel power generation and distribution, control systems - PLC/SCADA based automation, and DP.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards.
- Able to show leadership and commitment to ensure a healthy and safe place of work and to prevent a negative impact on the environment by adhering to the QHSE procedures.
- A good command of written and spoken English, able to write technical reports.
- Available to travel to the vessels and stay onboard for longer periods as required.

Your team: You will become part of a professional team within the Fleet department of Boskalis Offshore Energy and will work on multidisciplinary projects. On a day-to-day basis, you will report to the technical manager.
Where you will work: Ideally the Papendrecht Head office is where the majority of activities will take place, however we can be flexible on the location so our Aberdeen office could be an option, however if needed you are willing to work abroad in Papendrecht.
Full/part-time job: The position of electrical specialist is a full-time (40 hours a week) job.
