The Local Governing Committee is seeking to appoint a High Needs Teaching Assistant to work with specific children who have additional needs. We are seeking an individual to join our team, who is committed to helping children progress and gain independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to pupils with a range of additional needs, both in class and in small group or individual sessions.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to implement personalised learning plans and interventions.
  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and language development, fostering confidence and independence.
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
  • Promote an inclusive, nurturing, and supportive classroom environment in line with the school's Catholic ethos.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to assessments and reviews as required.
  • Support the wider life of the school community, including participation in liturgies, assemblies, and school events.

  • Has experience of working with children with additional needs and/or EAL.
  • Will demonstrate patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Has high expectations of children's behaviour and attainment.

This post will involve day-to-day class support as well as delivering bespoke additional support for each individual child, including speech and language programmes.
