Sacred Heart is a popular Catholic Primary School situated just above the Old Town of Hastings, with strong links to the parish of St Mary Star of the Sea Church. We are a dedicated and hardworking team, committed to providing an excellent learning environment, where all our children feel safe and valued.

We would like to appoint an Individual Needs Assistant, who is confident, calm and enjoys working with children. A good communicator and team player, who can assist the children to do their best. This role is based across EYFS and KS1.

The successful candidate will:

  • Preferably have experience in working with children with SEND particularly with children with autism or speech and communication needs.
  • Be aspirational for the pupil's learning and development.
  • Have a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.

Experience in positive handling and therapeutic thinking would be beneficial however training can be provided.

Duties include:

  • Assist in promoting the learning and personal development of the pupils to whom you are assigned, to enable them to make best use of the educational opportunities available to them.
  • Support playground/break time/lunch time supervision.
  • Accompany children on educational visits.
  • Administer basic First Aid and record keeping.

The position is a fixed term contract for 30.50 hours a week. Hours of work 8:40am - 3:15pm with a 30 minute lunch break. The role is term time only - 38 weeks. Single Status Grade 3, Point 7. £24,796 per annum pro-rata. This will equate to approximately £17,267 per annum.
