This important role will help us as a team to make a very real difference to the future life-chances of the children entrusted to our care.
The Bosco Catholic Education Trust is at a crucial stage of its future development, supporting and facilitating the success of Catholic schools across Sussex. At present, there are 13 schools in the Trust, 5 more joining over the coming year, and an additional 15 planned.
Working closely with the Estates Compliance Manager to provide advice and guidance to schools on all matters relating to health and safety, this role would be ideal for someone who has completed their NEBOSH certificate training and wants to gain experience in a busy and varied academy trust. While experience is not essential, a genuine passion for health and safety and a strong desire to help others is essential. We\’re looking for someone who shares our ethos, who is approachable, emotionally intelligent, and thrives on building positive relationships.

KEY DUTIES
- To work with the Estates Compliance Manager in implementing the Health & Safety Strategy that meets health and safety legislative requirements.
- Support the Estates Compliance Manager with the implementation of an annual work plan in line with local and statutory requirements
- Support the organisation to meet compliance against relevant health and safety related standards within legislative requirements.
- Work with the Estates Compliance Manager in ensuring the delivery of health and safety systems and processes in line with statutory responsibilities.
- Support schools in the application of the Trust Health and Safety arrangements and the use and management of the Parago system. .
LIAISON AND COMMUNICATION
- To maintain an up-to-date electronic diary, weekly/monthly overview to ensure organisation of own diary is communicated with key staff across the Trust
- To establish methods of liaison with the Finance Manager and other parts of the central team to ensure your team is working in partnership
- To communicate effectively with a range of Trust personnel including (but not exclusively) the CEO, CFO and Finance Manager
- Business Managers and Finance Leads in the academies
WORKING TIME
- This is a full-time post, 37 hours per week, year-round but with flexibility available at first for the right candidate
- Core working hours are usually agreed between 8.00am and 5pm, however the post holder may be required to work outside of normal working hours on occasion, with due notice.
