HSE Officer to join our Health, Safety & Environment team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced health and safety professional who enjoys working with people, driving continuous improvement, and making a real difference across a busy manufacturing and operational environment.
As our HSE Officer, you'll play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation, and supporting colleagues at every level of the business to work safely and responsibly.
- What you'll be doing
- Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures.
- Carrying out workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments, identifying hazards and supporting corrective actions.
- Assisting with incident and accident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.
- Delivering health and safety inductions, toolbox talks and awareness campaigns.
- Supporting emergency preparedness activities and ensuring robust safety arrangements are in place.
- Working closely with managers, supervisors and employees to promote safe working practices across all operational areas.
- Monitoring compliance with UK health, safety and environmental legislation and company standards.
- Supporting external audits and maintaining effective relationships with certification bodies and regulatory agencies where required.
- Acting as a visible safety champion, encouraging engagement and helping to embed a strong safety culture throughout the organisation.
Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Previous experience in a HSE role.
- Ability to identify risk and opportunities.
- Understanding of local and international HSE laws, regulations, and standards.
- Ability to adapt communication style and behaviour to engage and motivate all associates.
- Demonstrable ability to implement new processes and standards.
- Self-motivated and committed to team engagement and team working.
- Strong IT skills, Microsoft packages, automation and SAP Systems.
- Preferred
- Level 6 NEBOSH Diploma.
- Experience of working with Certification bodies.
- Environmental Management Awareness.
- Auditing skills.

Working Hours : 39 hours per week - standard working pattern of 08:00 - 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 - 16:00 Friday with a 1-hour lunchbreak
