Job Description

We are recruiting for a Head of PR and Corporate Communications to join our Marketing department. The Head of PR & Corporate Communications is responsible for shaping, protecting and promoting Worcester Bosch. This role leads all external communications, including media relations, corporate messaging, Thought Leadership, issues management and crisis communications, ensuring consistent and compelling storytelling across all channels. The role partners closely with senior leadership to align communications with business strategy, supporting growth objectives and building trust with key stakeholders. The successful candidate will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive PR and corporate communications strategy aligned to business goals. They will also lead, mentor and develop the in-house PR team and nurture the relationship with our external PR agency.

Marketing PR responsibilities include:

  • Leading the strategic planning for PR, identifying and delivering initiatives as part of the annual PR plan.
  • Managing the overall PR budget, ensuring strong ROI and effectiveness by setting clear objectives and KPIs.
  • Working with our PR agency to build and maintain strong media relationships that secure high-quality, proactive coverage across national, trade, and international outlets.
  • Preparing key spokespeople for media engagements, with the potential to also be a spokesperson.
  • Tracking performance against KPIs.

Corporate Communications responsibilities include:

  • Working with the Executive Team and Director of HR to develop and deploy our Corporate Communications plan.
  • Collaborating with Internal Communications and People teams to ensure alignment between internal and external messaging.
  • Acting as a senior communications advisor to the executive team, supporting with corporate announcements.
  • Leading reputation management, including issues and crisis communications planning and response.
  • Preparing key spokespeople for media engagements.

This is a leadership role and the incumbent is expected to lead by example, demonstrating strong, visible leadership across the Marketing function and the wider business, setting standards for collaboration, accountability, and performance. We are looking for someone who has strong influencing skills, possesses sound judgement and demonstrates high levels of discretion. To be successful you'll need to be calm and confident under pressure, highly organised with strong attention to detail, proactive, solutions-focused and resilient. It is essential that you have significant experience in PR, corporate communications, or reputation management. We'll want to see your proven track record of delivering high-impact media coverage and corporate campaigns, as well as strong experience advising senior executives and managing high-profile issues. You will be media trained and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. We are looking for a strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness and who has plenty of experience managing agencies and cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education requirements: Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related discipline. Desirable: CIPR membership.

Working Hours: 39 hours per week - standard working pattern of 08:00 - 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 - 16:00 Friday with a 1-hour lunchbreak.
