As an Application Engineer in our active safety division, you will be the key technical bridge between our core development and individual UK vehicle manufacturers. Your primary focus will be tailoring our world-class safety systems to meet the unique demands of our customers

Your responsibilities:

  • Support the development and calibration of ABS, TCS, VDC, and value-added functions (VAF).
  • Assist in vehicle testing, calibration, and verification activities in:
    • Test vehicles
    • Simulation environments (e.g., MIL/SIL/HIL)
  • Participate in test campaigns across Europe (e.g., Germany, Sweden, Spain, Italy).
  • Analyse measurement data and support calibration improvements under guidance.
  • Contribute to structured handling of changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work closely with senior engineers, project management, and cross-functional teams.
  • Support technical discussions with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Spend time at Bosch headquarters in Abstatt, Germany, to develop technical knowledge and internal networks.

Qualifications

Essential skills, abilities and qualifications

  • Degree in Automotive, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or similar.
  • Basic understanding of vehicle dynamics and/or braking systems.
  • Strong analytical thinking and willingness to learn from data.
  • Good problem-solving skills with a structured approach.
  • Clear and concise communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Proactive and motivated attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Desirable skills, abilities and qualifications

  • Internship, placement, or project experience in automotive engineering or vehicle testing.
  • Exposure to vehicle dynamics, ESP/VDC, or chassis systems.
  • Familiarity with automotive tools (e.g., CANalyzer, CANape, INCA, ETAS tools).
  • Basic knowledge of simulation environments (MIL/SIL/HIL).
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or similar analysis tools.
  • Understanding of CAN or other automotive communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of functional safety principles.
  • Basic German language skills.

Additional Information

Willingness to travel internationally for testing activities.

Comfortable driving and travelling as a passenger in vehicles during dynamic testing situations.
