Preventative Maintenance: Assist with and eventually perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks on a wide range of plant machinery and equipment (e.g., pumps, motors, conveyors, gearboxes, automated systems).
Reactive Maintenance & Fault Finding: Learn to diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults promptly and efficiently to minimise downtime.
Electrical Systems: Develop skills in fault-finding and repair on electrical control circuits, motor control systems (Variable Speed Drives, Direct Online Starter), PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), sensors, and instrumentation.
Mechanical Systems: Gain proficiency in working with mechanical power transmission systems, bearings, seals, couplings, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
Safety Compliance: Understand and strictly adhere to all health and safety regulations, company procedures, and safe working practices (e.g., Lock Out Tag Out).
Installation & Commissioning: Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in identifying opportunities for engineering improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety.
Documentation: Assist with completing accurate maintenance logs, fault reports, and other relevant documentation.
Tool Usage: Learn to safely and effectively use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Teamwork: Work collaboratively within the maintenance team and cross-functionally with production and other departments.
Learning & Development: Actively engage with college coursework, workplace training modules, and mentoring to achieve apprenticeship qualifications.

- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation both verbally and written.
- Attend both college and the workplace for the duration of the apprenticeship.
- Complete all training modules successfully and in a timely manner with the support of external auditors.
- Develop mechanical knowledge and experience in the field of CNC machining.
- Develop a full understanding of all metrology and tooling used to support production.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and documentations.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum of 4 National Five Qualifications at Level 4 or above.
- Mandatory subject qualifications are English, Maths, a Science and technical related subjects including Graphic Communication / Physics.
- Applicants with a relevant NC qualification of Intermediate 2 Maths plus one Higher (Science/Technical related subject at a Grade C or above may be considered).
- Foundation Apprenticeship in Engineering or Scientific Technology would be advantageous.
