Job Description
The Supplier Quality Engineer will focus on machined and casted parts as well as other standard materials. You will be entrusted with your own area of responsibility in claim management, local supplier development, and process development on the supplier side as preventive quality work. You will be part of a technical purchasing team which directly contributes to our company’s results through high service grade and good supplier relations.
- Analyse deviations on components from incoming inspection, production, and from customers with check plausibility.
- Generate complaints to suppliers and evaluate their feedback (e.g. evaluation of 8D / quality statements).
- Coordinate the necessary internal immediate measures and communication with the supplier, e.g. rework, sorting, return delivery, etc.
- Participate in purchasing projects for quality planning and implementation of relevant steps on the supplier side.
- Ensure implementation of preventive quality standards by suppliers.
- Create and coordinate testing and measurement concepts for suppliers.
- Request the necessary immediate measures and the final 8D reports from the supplier.
- Report Q-data.
- Coach suppliers in Q-methods.
Qualifications
- Degree with proven years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, quality, or purchasing quality, preferably with experience in machined or casted parts.
- Experience in mechanical technology, mainly machining and casting, furthermore in evaluation in measurement concepts.
- Project management skills and a structured way of working, with a strong willingness and motivation to learn.
- Pro-active and flexible working style and good communication skills.
- Experience in working with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) is required.
- Experience in SAP is preferable.
- The job requires domestic and international travel.
- Communication skills in English, written and spoken, are required.
