Responsibilities
We are looking for candidates to join our Maintenance Apprenticeship scheme. The scheme includes the first-year off-site training at Birmingham Met College during which you will work towards your Practical Foundation Engineering Skills and commence your Foundation Degree in Manufacturing (Some Level 3 BTEC Units May be required in year one to bridge Knowledge to Foundation Degree). When you return to the company in your second year, you will begin your competence development element which will involve being budded up with an experienced engineer to apply the knowledge and skills learnt within our state-of-the-art facility.
During your second year, you will attend college on a day release basic to complete your foundation degree.
In year three and four you will attend Birmingham City University to undertake βTop Upβ units towards your Degree in Manufacturing Engineering β BEng (Hons). End Point Assessment will generally take place during the start of the fifth year.
You will be given full support to achieve your career targets and aspirations.
Qualifications
5 GCSE\’s at Grade A-C or 5 or above, including Mathematics (Higher Paper, English and a Science, Technology or Engineering related subject, as well as A Levels at grade C or above in both a Mathematical based subject and a Science, Technology, Engineering or additional Mathematics related subject, or 90+ credits in an Engineering BTEC at level 3.
