About the role:

We’re looking to recruit a Senior Anti-Social Behaviour Officer as a secondment/acting-up opportunity to join the Council’s ASB team. We are looking for a motivated and dedicated officer with a demonstrable commitment to top quality community safety services, with relevant qualifications and/or experience. The appointed officer will be an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, with a pragmatic and flexible approach to all aspects of their work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regular management supervisory responsibility.
  • Regular meetings are undertaken with staff to ensure procedures and policies are being followed in addition to ensure staff competencies.
  • Perform a lead officer role in relation to high level anti-social behaviour interventions such as Civil Injunctions, Criminal Behaviour Orders, Premises Closure Orders.
  • Manage a caseload of complex and high level anti-social behaviour cases and support ASB officers and other partners in obtaining Civil Injunctions, Criminal Behaviour Orders and Premises Closure Orders to resolve identified ASB issues.
  • Liaise with our legal team to progress cases through civil and criminal courts including taking witness statements, compiling evidence bundles, attending court hearings and presenting cases.
  • Undertake comprehensive investigations and seek to resolve complaints of anti-social behaviour and nuisance in the borough via low level interventions/ASB remedies.
  • Liaise with Police, Neighbourhood Officers, Selective Licensing Team, Community Safety and other agencies to ensure the efficient and effective management of each case.
  • To maintain comprehensive case management notes ensuring all systems are kept up to date.
  • To monitor and enforce ASB interventions in the Borough.
  • To carry out regular case reviews with ASB Officers to ensure allocated casework is being managed effectively.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Knowledge and Experience of using the full range of ASB powers under the Anti-social behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 in a local authority context.
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation/ guidance/ directives relating to ASB including enviro-crime, noise and nuisance.
  • Experience of monitoring service providers and gathering data/intelligence for the production of performance reports.
  • Experience of leading on successful enforcement operations with partners.
  • Experience of the monitoring, preparation and presentation of case files for legal proceedings.
  • Ability to represent senior management in the designated area.
  • Experience of supervising staff.
