The predicted salary is between 45750 - 49056 € per year.

£45,750- £49,056 per annum inclusive of the high cost area supplement - LBN P03 equivalent to AfC Band 6. This post may attract a market supplement to facilitate salary alignment with current equivalent AfC pay grade if applicable.

About Us

Newham is an incredibly diverse borough with a very young population and is experiencing considerable regeneration as part of the Olympic legacy. There are over 86,000 children and young people in Newham and we want each of them to have the same life chances as young people in other parts of London. This post is directly employed by the London Borough of Newham, who was the first London borough to offer a fully integrated 0-19 health and social care service after we assumed direct responsibility for providing 0 -19 School Nursing and Health Visiting services in 2017. Therefore, our CYPS directorate will be delivering the 0-19 Healthy Child programme through the Childrens Health Service. We have a stable and permanent management team in the Childrens Health Service and are now recruiting experienced Health Visitors to the remaining vacancies in our Health Visiting Teams. Newham 0-19 health service have a continual commitment, working towards improving the lives of Children and Young People in the Borough.

The Children's Health 0-19 service had their CQC inspection in 2021 and rated Good in all areas.

The Job

The role will provide a health visiting service to all children and their families based on the national refreshed health visiting model and evidenced by the Healthy Child Programme 0-5 years (HCP). The successful candidate will be responsible for developing health promotion and public health programmes in accordance with identified needs, local and National directives. They will be able to develop, implement and evaluate health plans in response to the identified needs of the individual, family and community in partnership with clients. To ensure reports are prepared for and participate in child protection conferences, Team around the family, Neighbourhood Acting meetings, court attendances and multi-agency planning meetings as required.

  • Be a registered Nurse
  • Have a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse Qualification
  • Hold a current NMC registration
  • Be Registered Nurse prescriber
  • Have evidence of continuous professional development
  • Be able to assess effectively, lead the team, manage performance, risk and plan in an outcome focused way.
  • Strive to share learning and collaborate with practitioners and multi-agency partners to achieve outcomes for children and their families.
  • Be IT literate e.g. using clinical systems, word processing, email and internet use.
