Lewisham Council Pension Fund, part of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), has over 27,000 members and 40 scheme employers. We are expanding our Pensions Team following a restructure and now have exciting opportunities for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Day to day administration of the LGPS and calculating all types of benefits in accordance with Scheme Regulations.
- Interpreting complex legislation.
- Providing support on all project work as required such as annual benefit statements, pensions increase, end of year processes, valuation etc.

We are looking for competent candidates with a background in pensions. The successful candidates will have experience of administering a final salary pension scheme and a CARE scheme. You will be self-motivated, possess good communication and numeracy skills and have good attention to detail. Above all you will be highly focused, taking responsibility for providing a high quality and efficient service. You should have a good working knowledge of defined benefit pension schemes and working knowledge of the LGPS and pension administration system, Altair, would be an advantage. For this role you will have a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities of using technology, as well as a commitment to Equality of Access and Opportunity in a diverse community.

We offer a hybrid working environment for our staff where you will work 3 days a week from our modern offices at Laurence House in Catford and 2 days a week from home.

Salary £40,404 - £41,637 per annum (SO1). N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
