About the Team
The Tenancy Enforcement Team is the Council’s frontline service committed to preventing and tackling antisocial behaviour and ensuring safe environments.
About the Role
The Tenancy Enforcement Litigation Officer will play a key part in managing legal and financial aspects of tenancy enforcement.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise the Council on complex legal matters with major implications for contracts and relationships.
- Represent the Council's financial interests in disputes across a range of subjects.
- Monitor, evaluate, and advise on risk exposure, compliance, policies, and legislation.
- Make decisions affecting Residential Services' provisions and resources.
- Manage conflicting priorities, attend courts, and work remotely as required.
Required Experience and Skills
- Experience of advocating for or representing clients in legal proceedings before County Courts and Magistrate Courts.
- Evidence of monitoring Pre‑Action Protocol and Court Issue Process.
- Experience of instructing external experts, solicitors, and/or barristers when necessary.
